Pamela Stewart

Modern Mixed Media Abstracts

A mixed media painter with a home studio in Kanata, Pam creates dramatic and energetic works with modern materials such as art resin, synthetic paper, alcohol inks, textured acrylic and other 3-dimensional media, broken mirror, sand, stones and more.

Her work is always an authentic expression of how she experiences the world around her – bathed in an immersion of the senses.

"My soul - and my work - seeks the cleansing and grounding effects of water; always.  While all of my work will have an organic flow and use liquid materials for these effects, several of my recent works also explore subversive themes related to gender, diversity, inclusion and belonging."

A mom of teenage twins, a former indie filmmaker and magazine editor, and former owner of Carleton Place Gallery, when not in the studio or teaching a workshop, Pam is likely either ice swimming or going for a long-distance open water swim. It just depends on what season it is!
